Other places

In addition to a number of beautiful towns and villages, there are of course many more places worth visiting on Crete. The old leper colony Spinalonga for example. Or lake Kournas and the Lasithi plateau.

Also walks through the natural gorges on the island are very popular. Many people know the Samaria gorge or Imbros gorge. A visit to one of the many gorges is certainly worthwhile.

The island has many places that have been very important in the history of the island. Like the Arkadi Monastery and Frangokastello.

From Crete, you can make excursions to other Greek islands. Gavdos for example, is the southernmost island of Europe. Also excursions to the island Santorini are very popular.
